Description

The magnetic drum separator with conveyor belt, also known as dry cleaning (screener), is used to obtain concentrated, semi-concentrated and mineral gunk in large-size ferromagnetic materials up to 300 mm in diameter. In ore cleaning, the size of the materials passing through the conveyor belt is very important. For this reason, separators have different magnet configurations and pole points for ore processing. The goal in the design of these separators is to distribute the material in the magnetic field as best as possible. The elastic belt is supported by inert pulleys to create resistance against the force generated at the moment of leakage at the feeding point. The blade under the magnetic drum is covered with rubber for protection against abrasion and can be easily changed. The engine section is mounted on the rear drum. It consists of a reducer, belts, pulleys and motor. If necessary, the belt speed can be adjusted between 0.5 and 2.5 m/sec.

The capacity and performance of separators vary depending on the material and certain other criteria. These criteria are: mineral composition of the material to be separated, particle size distribution, moisture content, amount of material, magnetic properties of the material, ratio of magnetic to non-magnetic materials.
