Information on safe use of magnets
Young children / Contact with strong magnets
The use of powerful magnets by young children should only be done under adult supervision. Risk of serious health complications if swallowed. In any such case seek medical advice immediately. Magnets are not toys, keep young children away from strong magnets.
Electrical conductivity
Magnets are usually metallic materials. These materials are good conductors of electricity. In case of contact of the magnets with a cable or socket there is a serious risk of electric shock.
Risk of accident
Strong magnets have a high attractive force. Protective gloves are always used when using them. Risk of serious injury in case of traction between.
Electronic devices / Pacemakers
Strong magnets can generally affect electronic devices such as (laptops, computers, hard drives, phone cards, ATM cards). Keep magnets away from such objects, as they risk being demagnetized. Strong magnets can also affect the functionality of pacemakers and defibrillators. Risk of resetting their test mode. Warn those carrying such devices if there are magnets nearby.
Metallic scrap metal
Most magnets are fragile. Collision between strong magnets can cause breakage. Risk of eye injury from possible fragments.
Processing / Machining
Generally magnets are not treated (sanding, cutting, filing, planing) there is a risk of cracking or breaking.
Allergies to Nickel
Many of our magnets contain or are coated with nickel. Avoid direct contact with the skin if you are allergic there is a risk of allergic reaction. Prefer magnets that do not contain nickel.
Air transport
Strong magnets can create a large magnetic field that can cause problems if they are transported by air. Make sure that during transport they are well stored and protected with materials that limit their magnetic property.
Heat resistance
Magnets lose their magnetic property when exposed to high temperatures for a long time. Their general operating temperature is 80-200°C. Ask us for higher strength magnets.
Corrosion / Oxidation
Neodymium magnets used outdoors do not have good resistance to oxidation and there is a possibility that over time their plating may corrode. For more protection they can be painted. Dyeing does not affect their magnetic property.
Magnetic resistance
Very heavy loads, fatigue symptoms of a magnet, as well as defective surface could cause a magnet or magnetic hook or tread to loosen. Falling objects can lead to serious injuries. The indicated attractive force of the magnets is valid only under ideal conditions. Allow a high security threshold.
